A New Pheasantby ~Art-in-Murder

Artisan Crafts / Folding & Papercraft / Origami

My experiment with 3d origami. I've been working on it for about a month off and on. This is sort of my model for a phoenix I'll be making when I procure more colored paper, but I'll of course make some changes mainly in the wings, and larger so I can better elaborate the tail.

and exactly how long it took I couldn't say since I kept putting it down and coming back to it every couple of days. The folding gets very redundant, so I was worried I would get sloppy if I pushed myself to work on it when I would get board with it. The only frustrating part was the first two layers of the base which kept folding in on itself then coming apart. I felt it was impossible without having the many magic arms of Shiva, and at one point I tore it apart, but once I put some more layers on the structure stabilized. After that there were no problems.
