This was a very public area so you can imagine the looks received while shooting this.

Camera: Nikon N5005

wow, impact! its tempting to imagine that this is what the human subconscious might secretly look like, machination and masquerade incarnate. :winner:

Yay someone who looks at this as more than just a "cool" image. I'll admit some of my art is for mere aesthetics, but I was hoping people would find some of it to be thought provoking as well. Your comment is greatly appreciated.

The gears are part of some railroad equipment that's part of an outside display at a museum. What contraption it goes to exactly I don't know but there's lots of cool stuff there. I would like to reprint this with a sepia toner at some point.

nice. If you're printing it yourself you should also do a cut out shape and move it around a little while exposing to get that oval fade out or whatever. That would definitely make it extra cool with the sepia.

I think the process your talking about is burning. It will be quite a while before I have access to a darkroom again, but when I do I think that will be a great effect for the shot. Thanks for the idea.

Dodging actually, because the goal is to lighten the area around the center rather than darken it. But yes, thanks, I had forgotten the words. heh heh.

Yeah it's easy to take the darkroom for granted then realize how much it sucks not to have it later. I currently have access to one and I know I"m going to regret it if I don't make some use of it soon.

Ahh yes. I've always mixed those two up, and will probably continue to do so for a while lol. Amazing things come out of darkroom, probably because of all the waiting one does while creating a print, there's a lot of time to consider what you could do with your next photo. There were student from 2 classes (sometimes 3) using it at the same time so I was always so rushed. I want to set up my own to use at my leisure and so friends can develop if they want, but I'm in an apartment so I don't see that happening quite yet, but yes do make use of the darkroom they are becoming more rare.
